Expect the unexpected is a perfect way to describe this book. Birthday Girl is a short story a girl who was working in an Italian Restaurant in Tokyo on her 20th Birthday. She wanted to spend her Birthday in a positive way but due to some incident she had to work late night. Later something extraordinary happens and she gets an unusual gift from the restaurants owner.
To be very honest at first I really didn't understand what actually happens in the end. Did her wish come true? What was her wish? and Who she was narrating her story? well to know all the answers read the book as if I disclose everything then there wont be any excitement left.
But let me tell you one think, this book is not just a normal book which you will easily understand, you really have to think and might have to read it twice or thrice to actually understand the ending.
Well it was a roller costar ride for me where I actually read it thrice to understand the concept and what this story was all about. But at the end I was really amazed and I am still thinking that how a short story which only has 48 pages can make you feel thrilled and curious to an extend where you wont get bored and the mystery will keep revolving around you even after completing the book. Recommended to all especially for those who like short, crisp and mysterious ending, you will surly be amazed ☺❤
